Modern Networks

Modern Networks helps commercial property owners and managing agents turn buildings into high-performing, tenant-ready assets. Founded in 1999, we deliver connectivity, secure networks, telephony and responsive support to over 2,000 UK properties, including 160 shopping centres, 60 retail parks, 47 science and innovation parks and 600+ tenant organisations within those parks.

We are pleased to offer our services as your building’s Service Guardian, an independent service integrator for both IT and operational technology. We do not directly own or manage every system; instead, we coordinate with vendors, monitor network activity, and ensure that any issues are directed to the appropriate third party. Each provider, such as those for CCTV or access control, remains responsible for their respective systems.

Our focus is simple: smart, secure and scalable digital infrastructure that improves tenant satisfaction, reduces risk and downtime, and supports higher occupancy and asset value. We’re trusted by leading managing agents such as Avison Young, CBRE, JLL and Savills.

We offer a competitive salary with 25 days holiday + bank holidays per annum (pro-rata). Working hours are Monday to Friday – 37 ½ hours per week. Community

Modern Networks is very active within our local community. The company is a proud sponsor of Hitchin Town Football Club. Working with the Hitchin Rotary Club, the company also sponsors annual events such as the Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival. Members of the staff regularly organize cake sales and similar fundraising activities for both local and national charities. Additionally, the company organises occasional social events such as pub quizzes, trips to the theatre, summer barbecues, and Christmas parties. Our Hitchin office is a dog-friendly environment, which we have found to be beneficial for morale, health, and well-being.
